Building Hope Shalom Center's Capital Campaign "For Such A Time As This"
Esther 4:14
The Need for a New Facility
Interfaith Network Nightly Shelter needs to move from rotating church sites to one stationary location
Current 106-year old facility suffers from an outdated infrastructure and in inefficiently designed to operate our programs
Classroom is too small for the number of adults and children enrolled in educational training
The Emergency Family Shelter has been operating at capacity for over 10 years
Current building does not provide adequate space for programs and demand of services
The Proposed Solution
New facility located at 1218 79th Street - adjacent to the Kenosha Achievement Center
Facility designed specifically to meet the needs of Shalom Center programs and services
Separate Food Pantry located at 8043 Sheridan Road provided by a partnership with the City of Kenosha
Food Pantry designed to facilitate large, corporate, non-perishable, perishable and frozen food donations
The New Facility Will...
Provide increased service opportunities due to location along bus route and close proximity to Kenosha Job Center
Facilitate new and expanded service relationships with the Kenosha Achievement Center and Gateway Technical College
Provide adequate space for programs and is removed from area homes and businesses
Enable Interfaith Network Nightly Shelter to increase from 12 to 24-hour services for increased case management
