The Shalom Center was established in 1982. It is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) social service organization providing a safe and supportive environment to those less fortunate in the Kenosha community. On the following pages you will find information about our history, programs, volunteer opportunities and needs list. We welcome you to look through our website and find out more about our place in the community.

National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is November 16th through the 22nd. In recognition the Shalom Center will hold a candlelight vigil on the East steps of the agency on Wednesday, November 19th at 530pm. Both the Mayor and County Executive have signed a proclamation in recognition of this week.
On Thursday, November 20th from 11am to 1pm we will host a Soup Tasting and Open House at the the Shalom Center. Staff will be on hand to answer questions about the agency and several local restaurants including: The Coffee Pot, Danny's Cafe, Mo's Coffee Shop, Jack's Cafe at Andrea's and the Soup Depot will donate soups to enjoy with your choice of bread or crackers for only $5.
Please join us for one or both of these events.
For more information please call Susanne at 658-1713 ext. 121.

Work on developing our Capital Campaign Committees for our much needed new facility is well underway. Our new facility will allow us to provide services more efficiently and effectively to more people and expand some services. Please consider joining one of our committees to work on one of the many aspects of our capital campaign. If you or someone you know would like to help in this effort please do not hesitate to contact me. We know you share our enthusiasm by the increasing number of questions we get about our plans and your willingness to turn these plans into reality.
I can be contacted at 658-1713 ext. 110 or melyond@shalomcenter.org
