Due to COVID-19, many opportunities are limited to the amount of people permitted to be in the building leading to limited volunteer opportunities and responsibilities. Please see our full COVID-19 response for more information.
Help with distribution of food to our clients and assisting them navigate aisles and select food to be brought home.
Stocking, sorting, and shelving food donations. Donations are also assessed to ensure proper quality and then prepared for distribution and arranged in our aisles.
Help serve a meal in one of two locations.
Help clean up the kitchen and do dishes!
We are looking to build a community of volunteers interested in helping organize, participate, and manage the variety of events support the Shalom Center's efforts.
Help unload produce, goods, and food from delivery trucks of our community partners and donors in our warehouse space for it to be sorted, stocked, and shelved.
Help keep our building clean! Light janitorial.
Help with light admin work including filing, making phone calls, manage recurring reports, and learning systems.
If you would like your group to volunteer, we have opportunities including box builds, group cleaning projects, and group meal serving nights.
COVID-19 Guidelines for Volunteers
Face masks that cover nose and mouth are required for all volunteers.
We ask that volunteers experiencing the following do not report for scheduled volunteer opportunities including:
- Fever or Chills. - Cough. -Shortness of breath
- Difficulty breathing - Fatigue. -Muscle or body aches
- Headache - New loss of taste or smell. - Sore throat
- Congestion or Runny Nose. - Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea - In contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms/case
