Kenosha WI, (March 1, 2026) Shalom Center recently appointed Bob Sus as the new Shelter Programs Director for the nonprofit devoted to providing emergency food, shelter, and guidance to the Kenosha community. Bob will lead the effort to continue to build and strengthen shelter operations and expand pathways to stability for individuals experiencing homelessness. With 15 years of experience at every level of non-profit work with homeless communities and over 18 years of military service with the Wisconsin Army National Guard, Bob combines structure, accountability, and empathy into his leadership style.

“Bob is dedicated to creating safe, structured environments that honor the dignity of every individual served while strengthening long-term solutions to homelessness,” said Esther Roberts, executive director of Shalom Center. “With Bob’s experience and leadership, I am confident in our ability to continue to serve our community.”

As a veteran of the U.S. Army with 18 years of leadership experience, 4 overseas combat tours, and 4 additional mobilizations within the U.S., Bob’s background in operations and team development shapes his steady, mission-focused approach to shelter management and community collaboration.

“I believe effective service requires both strong systems and genuine human connection, and I am committed to fostering partnerships that create lasting impact in the community,” stated Bob Sus.
