Shalom Center Launches 2026 Summer Appeal

Dear Friends of Shalom Center,
Every day I am reminded of the incredible support Kenosha has for Shalom Center. As Executive Director, I regularly have the honor of accepting a charitable gift on behalf of the organization. At the grocery store, I often encounter a bountiful food donation box. During my commute, I catch sight of the striking billboards that were donated to promote our mission. Most recently, the generous sponsorships, vendor participation, and attendance of National Night Out 2026 on August 4th was inspiring.
National Night Out is a free annual initiative that encourages community partnerships and neighborhood connection. Attendees had a wonderful time enjoying music, food, and activities. Every child received a backpack and school supplies in preparation for the upcoming school year. Children also had an equal opportunity to go home with one of four donated bikes. The event was made possible because of the generosity of people like you who recognize the vital role Shalom Center has in Kenosha. In turn, the event’s success fosters goodwill in the community, energizing a robust cycle of support. For this, I am humbled and overcome with gratitude.
During the event’s festivities, Shalom Center continued to assist those in need. Folks who depend on the Soup Kitchen received a meal. The shelter programs remained fully operational. In the morning, we got back to planning our next big event — Pasta for Shalom on October 4th. We have a community to serve and the work never stops.
I trust that you understand the value of your continued support to our mission. Moreover, I hope you feel a sense of pride knowing that you are an integral part of an effort that has overwhelming support from the community at large. As always, please consider making a monthly donation to the Shalom Center. We are also looking for sponsors for Pasta for Shalom and invite pasta-loving-people to order tickets in advance.
In joy and heartfelt appreciation,

Esther Roberts, Executive Director
