Shalom Center Awarded Grant from Green Bay Packers Foundation

Kenosha WI, (September 3, 2026) Shalom Center announced today that it has been awarded a $3,000 impact grant from the Green Bay Packers Foundation. With “homelessness” being a focus for the Foundation’s current grant cycle, the funds are designated specifically for Shalom Center’s shelter support programs.
The Green Bay Packers Foundation issues grants each year to nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Wisconsin, supporting community improvement and non-profit initiatives. With these disbursements, the Foundation has distributed more than $33 million for charitable purposes since it was established in 1986.
This year the Foundation focused on awarding grants to organizations that will use the funds for programs that address animal welfare, homelessness, and human services. Shalom Center is one of 402 nonprofit organizations in Wisconsin who have received a grant through this year’s annual grant cycle.
The Shalom Center operates three distinct shelter programs that address the varying needs and circumstances of people who are experiencing homelessness. According to Shalom Center Executive Director Esther Roberts, the funds have been allocated to support operational costs such as facility maintenance and other basic needs of our shelter programs. Roberts expressed, “We are exceptionally grateful to the Green Bay Packers Foundation for their commitment to Wisconsin communities and their generous support of organizations like ours.”
All grant applications are reviewed by the Green Bay Packers Foundation Trustees. More information about the Packers Foundation and the annual grants process is available at packers.com/foundation.
