The Hope Hub Nightly Shelter is operated by the Shalom Center in partnership with Kenosha Human Development Services.

HOPE Hub Nightly Shelter

The HOPE Hub Nightly Shelter is now open with a limited capacity. The Nightly Shelter will open each night at 6pm on a first come, first served basis.  The new shelter is for individuals that have an immediate, short-term need for shelter.

How to Use the Hope Hub Nightly Shelter

  • Enter at Door #4
  • Arrival window: 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM
  • Doors close promptly at 9:00 PM
    (Late entry is not available after this time)
Eligibility Requirements
To stay at the Hope Hub Nightly Shelter, guests must:
  • Be literally homeless with no other alternative for nightly shelter
  • Be  single adult 18 years of age or older
  • Agree to follow shelter rules and expectations
  • Not pose an active risk to themselves or others
  • Be able to safely navigate the space without assistance
  • Be able to meet basic self-care needs independently
  • Not be listed on the sex offender registry
These requirements help us maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all guests and staff. If someone is not able to stay with us, our team will do their best to help identify other appropriate resources whenever possible.

The Nightly Shelter is a night-only, low-barrier program designed to meet immediate safety needs. Guests do not need to be enrolled in a longer-term shelter program. The focus is on immediate overnight safety, stabilization, and connection to resources, while other Shalom Center shelter programs offer longer-term stays with more structured services.

Who can use the HOPE Hub Nightly Shelter?
The shelter serves individuals who are literally homeless, including those sleeping outdoors, in places not meant for human habitation, or without a safe nighttime residence.

Is the HOPE Hub Nightly Shelter open to families and individuals?
The shelter serves will serve only individuals at this time.

What services are available to guests?
Guests have access to: A safe, warm place to sleep plus showers, laundry, and basic hygiene support during designated hours.

Where do guests go during the day?

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: The HOPE Hub is open from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. for showers, laundry, and resources.
  • Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday: Guests are referred to community warming centers and partner locations.

Will volunteers be needed?
Yes. Volunteers are an important part of the HOPE Hub Nightly Shelter and may assist with hospitality, support, and facility needs. Training and guidance are provided.
